Raleigh NC| 3 Reasons Companies Should Blog About Layoffs

Blogging about Layoffs

In these tough economic times companies are doing anything to survive.  For many companies, this unfortunately means layoffs.  In an article written by Claire Cain Miller, we find that many companies, especially those in Silicon Valley, have taken to blogging about layoffs.

From a public relations perspective, the knee-jerk reaction that comes to mind is… STOP!  But after thinking about the situation, many companies are better off blogging about layoffs than remaining mum on the subject.  There are at least three reasons for this:

1) Blogging about layoffs allows your company to frame the situation.

2) Blogging about layoffs allows your company to set the facts straight.

3) Blogging about layoffs shows that your company cares about losing valuable employees and that they will be sorely missed.

The benefits of the three points above generally surpass the drawbacks of blogging about layoffs.  Can you think of any more reasons why companies should or should not blog about about layoffs?  Let us know what you think in the comment section.

People always hate to talk about when they are laid off. But as it has become every day’s news headline since Yahoo started it with cutting 1500 of its task force last year, now a need of platform has been in demand where people can express their selves in words how they are feeling about their company, whey the got laid off was that justified or not.
And every thing they want to tell anonymously. And http://www.layoffgossip.com is providing you that platform.

I have a very close friend, who graduated from Harvard. Worked for ML for over 8 years, recently he’s been “right sized” too, despite of his outstanding performance and the increasing revenue he generated. OMG, now the banking industry is badly hurt, how long it would take for those financial background guys like him get back to the job market. Banking jobs are not there as much as before as easily seen on http://www.joboutlets.com and other job sites in the region

It’s getting a little scary, all these layoffs. Two of our neighbors just lost their jobs. Folks are getting depressed and even morose about the economy. I was talking to my girlfriends about it, and we agree one of the best ways to shut it all out…is shopping :) I’m making light, but I’m also serious. The economy needs the stimulation, and we need the distraction. I found a cool Raleigh blog with good intel on some great places to shop at http://www.raleighvipclub.com – the woman who writes it, I think her name is Brandy Ruth – is pretty funny and my kinda gal – a good shopper!
